Always make your image a little bigger

Bleed

PrintConcept.co.uk cuts your print with the most modern, computer-controlled machines. Yet, small defects are unavoidable. But that is no problem. Just make sure that there is 3 mm of extra image on all sides ('bleed'). That way a cutting deviation will have no effect at all on your printed materials.

Tips for creating your file

Bleed

How does this work precisely? Take a look below at the example of a flyer in A6 format (105 by 148 mm).

  • Do you want your design printed in A6 format (105 by 148 mm)? Then provide us with a file that is 111 by 154 mm. Would you like to enlarge the format? You can do that by letting the photo run through to the edge – in other words, by not by putting a white frame around the design.

  • We cut the flyer on the white lines. The format that results is therefore a regular A6 (105 by 148 mm).

  • Text or logos? These are best positioned at a distance of 3 mm from the cutting edge (white lines). In this way, you avoid having the text stuck too close to the edge or having it get cut away. Would you like to place a frame around your design? Then make sure that it is also not too close to the cutting edge.
